Manchester City Council Market Place Event: The Manchester and Trafford House Project Stall

The Manchester Market Place Event was a huge success and provided a fantastic platform to enable the Manchester and Trafford House Project to have an open dialogue with young people and professionals regarding the House Project as a potential accommodation offer.
The team had lots of very informative discussions, spreading awareness and knowledge of the Manchester and Trafford House Project whilst learning more about what young people would like from an accommodation offer, putting young people and their needs at the heart of the discussion.
The future of the Manchester and Trafford House Project is looking very bright, and the team are ecstatic to continue on their journey with their brand-new cohort 3, whilst being optimistic about the future as more young people are aware of the fantastic accommodation offer, we can provide.

It may have taken 7 years to support the first 500 young people into their first home, but we are expecting the next 500 young people to move in to their own homes by August 2026!

Staff experiences of working with unaccompanied asylum seeking young people within a trauma-informed framework at the National House Project: An Exploratory Qualitative Study. This small-scale study was carried out by Royal Hollaway University between November 2023 and January 2024. Semi-structured interviews with ten staff members from NHP and LHP’s were undertaken and explored their experiences of using a trauma informed practice framework to support asylum seeking young people.
